People meditating on the beach

Meanwhile for more thrills for all the family visit Rock Reef for an exhilarating Zip Wire experience, landing on the beach by Bournemouth Pier, or go indoors and get involved in Clip ‘n’ climb, the Highline or the Vertical Slide.

Cycling is another excellent way of exploring the coastline and surrounding areas. Bring your own bikes – there are excellent bike security facilities at the Lodges – or hire from a seafront outlet. Front Bike Hire has a wide selection of mountain and cruiser bikes for adults and children, tandems and a wide selection of ride-along kids accessories.

The Lodges have an uninterrupted view of the Purbecks to the West and the Isle of Wight in the east – a perfect backdrop for running and jogging at any time of the year but for those with a competitive spirit there are two big annual running and fitness events in town. You can tackle a number of distances from a half marathon to a kids’ fun run at April’s Bournemouth Bay Run.

Alternatively, the Bournemouth Marathon Festival takes place over an October weekend – for details go to https://www.bournemouthmarathon.com/. Watch the runners stream by from the comfort of your Lodge deck or use the excellent facilities to prepare for and recover from the big race if participating!

The hugely successful Bournemouth Air, Arts by the Sea Festivals and Christmas Tree Wonderland also offer great reasons to visit the South Coast and stay at the stylish Bournemouth Beach Lodges.
